When Elizabeth Lavenza enrolled at Ingold as its first female medical student, she knew she wouldn't have an easy time. About the Author
I grew up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and have an MFA from Columbia University (though only a dim recollection of what I did to get it) . I currently live in an 1850's house two hours from Manhattan.I have worked as a veterinarian's assistant, a literature teacher at a school for students with dyslexia, and a comic book editor for Vertigo/DC comics (I wrote the Sandman letters column for a while) . I still write comic books. And I still have all my old Shanna the She Devil issues.
