About the Author

Robert Barton

Robert has acted in most of the plays of Shakespeare and has directed half of them. He is professor emeritus in acting at the University of Oregon. He is the author of the books Acting: Onstage and Off (now in its 6th edition), Voice: Onstage and Off, with Rocco Dal Vera, Theatre in Your Life and Life Themes, with Annie McGregor, and Style for Actors (all in recent 2nd editions). His newest text is Acting Reframes: Using NLP to Make Better Decisions in and out of the Theatre. Robert has been the recipient of the theatre associations best book and outstanding acting coach awards. His column "Many Right Ways" appears in each edition of The Voice and Speech Review.
