About the Author
Kevin Gutzman, MPAff, JD, PhD, is the author of five books, including the just-published Thomas Jefferson--Revolutionary: A Radical's Struggle to Remake America and James Madison and the Making of America. He is Professor and former Chairman in the Department of History at Western Connecticut State University and a faculty member at LibertyClassroom.com. Two of his books were book club main selections, another was a book club alternate selection, and two were best-sellers.
Gutzman has written essays for three edited collections and articles in The Journal of Southern History, the Journal of the Early Republic, the Virginia Magazine of History and Biography, The Journal of the Historical Society, and the Review of Politics, among other scholarly journals, as well as reviews in all the leading history journals.
