About the Author

Julia Tang Peters

I've always been interested in people and their stories, behaviors, and outcomes. My career path evolved as I learned the skills that honed my strengths and that best fit my interests. In Act One, my corporate career enabled me to learn about organization dynamics from the best companies in the world; in Act II, my family therapy training and practice helped me learn about effecting behavioral change; and in Act III, I combined business and psychology skills in a professional development consultancy. My first book, Pivot Points: Five Decisions Every Leader Must Make brings it all together and offers a multidimensional approach to leadership and careers. I have the good fortune of working with great leaders but also I've learned from people stuck in their careers.Other experiences that shaped my perspective include being born in Taiwan after my parents fled Communist China and growing up in Washington, D.C., where my father was a Chinese diplomat; also earning an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management and a Masters of Science in psychology from Northwestern's School of Education and Social Policy. I am a licensed family therapist since 1995.
