About this item

It is hard to tell which was more devastating: finding out about Dad's first suicide attempt or his death shortly thereafter. I didn't have time to reflect on his unexpected attempt when Mom and I learned about secrets he had been hiding over the past year. His dream business became a living nightmare, creating debts and unimaginable stress that we were previously unaware of. Life became hell. I feared his next attempt would only be a matter of time. My New Normal: Surviving Suicide Loss takes the reader through the true story of a 22-year-old survivor of a family suicide. The journal entries were written immediately after the tragedy. The emotions are raw, the memories are real. This book will instill hope in suicide survivors of every age, shares an incredible story, and spreads awareness on the dangers of a hidden illness.

About the Author

Anna Cambria

Anna Cambria graduated from San Diego State University in the summer of 2016 with a B.A. in English Literature. Shortly after graduation, she lost her father to suicide. Unable to relate to those around her, she turned to online sources and noticed a distinct lack of memoirs from children and young adult survivors. She hopes her poignant story helps others and is used as a tool to start discussions on mental health. www.annacambria.com
