The club played a huge part in a lot of people s lives... No Slam Dancing... is an oral history of one of the most important clubs to ever exist. For far too long City Gardens has gone without being recognized as such and now it s time for the people who lived it and made it what it was to tell the story in their own words. Whether you went there or just loved the bands who played there, there is a story inside for everyone who has ever attended a live gig.

Amy Yates Wuelfing

Amy Yates Wuelfing has been involved in music journalism since 1985 when she started workingon the punk 'zine Hard Times. As a music aficionado, Amy landed a job working at the now-defunct, but still legendary, Third Street Jazz & Rock record store in Philadelphia. After graduatingfrom Temple University, Amy got a regular day job, but still writes about music. In 2014, her and co-author Steven DiLodovico published No Slam Dancing, No StageDiving, No Spikes: An Oral History of the Legendary City Gardens. She appeared on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, along with Butthole Surfer frontman Gibby Haynes, to discuss Trenton NJ's punk rock legacy.
