Cynthia earned a bachelors degree from Emory University, followed by a master's degree in Journalism from the University of Georgia. She has served as the editor or managing editor for several human health resources, including The Primer on the Rheumatic Diseases. She was also instrumental in the start-up and served as the first managing editor for a leading arthritis journal, and served as deputy managing editor for physician news at WebMD. She currently works for Merial Limited, where she serves as the editor of The Merck Veterinary Manual, the comprehensive veterinary reference book on animal diseases and The Merck/Merial Manual for Pet Health, a book for pet owners that describes animal diseases in every-day language.
