About this item

Mole wants to sleep under the sky and watch the stars turn on-- but he's worried about getting lost in the dark, in this ode to friendship, storytelling, and starry nights. But there's nothing to be afraid of when he's going camping with his friend Bear. Rolling up sleeping bags, picking fresh berries, and climb-climb-climbing, they hike to Camp Tiptop at the summit of the mountain to watch the sunset. Nervously, Mole wonders if they'll get lost in the dark-- so Bear tells him a legend of how the stars came to be, when the First Bears made the moon and scattered white stones across the sky, fixing one special star-- the First Star-- in place, so it would always help them find their way. Featuring the popular characters and cozy illustrations of Will Hillenbrand's other Bear and Mole books, First Star is a perfect bedtime book, and a gentle reminder that no matter how dark it gets, your loved ones will always help you find your way. The sturdy hardcover edition features glitter detailing on the jacket.
