When Daniel's class hatches chicks as a science project, he adopts them. When he finds out that his favorite bird, Peepers, isn't a hen but a rooster, and therefore illegal to keep in the city of Portland, t"he Secret Chicken Society" is quickly formed to save Peepers. About the Author
I was born in San Francisco. I'm the oldest of five children and enjoyed telling stories from an early age. I am a retired reading specialist. I was inspired to write children's books by my love of literature, by raising my son, and by teaching my students.
