Based on real events, this is the story of how the Golden Delicious apple came to be. Owners of a nursery in Missouri were looking for the perfect apple. It would be sweet and juicy. In the spring of 1914, they were astonished to taste just that apple.

Hello! I have been writing for most of my life and am the author of many stories rooted in myth, legend, and history. Some published books of mine include:

My main focus has been on books for children, although I enjoy basing stories on interesting historical events that appeal to adults too. I've had poetry featured in many journals and anthologies. I also give writing workshops and author presentations throughout the country.

I am proud to call West Virginia home. I live in Bridgeport, WV with my husband Kim. My son lives close by in Bridgeport with his wife and daughter, and my daughter lives in Boston with her two sons.
