About the Author
William Low BiographyBorn in New York City, William Low was accepted into NYC's specialized High School of Art & Design where he studied painting with Max Ginsberg and Irwin Greenberg. Low then attended Parson's School of Design in Greenwich Village for his Bachelors' Degree. Later, he received his MA in Illustration with Syracuse University NY. Early clients for his painted illustrations included The New York Daily News Sunday Magazine, The New York Times, Eddie Bauer Inc., LL Bean. Later commissions for paintings and public works art include 10 stamp designs for United States Postal Service and glass murals for Metropolitan Transit Authority Arts & Design program and Rosewood Hotels & Resorts Hong Kong.Low has given workshops, seminars and talks with American Library Association Annual Pre-Conference, Multicultural Children's Book Festival, Kennedy Center, Syracuse University, NY and the Norman Rockwell Museum in MA. He is a 5 time silver medalist at the Society of Illustrators NY, as well as York Times Best Illustrated Picture Book Award for Old Penn Station, 2009.
