About the Author
I never expected to write a book. I started knitting when I was newlywed and got bored with the yarns at local craft stores. So I went online and found handspun art yarn and wanted to do that. But there were no videos, no classes, no teachers in my area. So I bought a spinning wheel online and taught myself how to spin. I brought my first yarns to a knitting group and they all sold. Then I decided to begin my own little yarn shop in my tiny apartment to help make ends meet.Fast forward 10+ years and now I'm an Author?! WOW. I wrote this book with the questions and thoughts and feelings I had when I first started spinning. I wrote it to people who have never touched a wheel, who weren't concerned with doing things perfectly, who just want to spin yarn. I included tutorials and tips on building your own spinning equipment on the cheap. This book is not a technical manual, more of a guide to creating yarns that you will love to work with.I'm also a stay at home mom to a sweet little hobbit named Sam. Still happily married to my best friend Brian, and living in Massachusetts. I still spin yarn and sell it at local yarn shops.
