Lisa Meyers McClintick has explored the Midwest as an award-winning journalist and photographer for the past 30 years. She's paddled across 450-foot-deep quarries, bundled up for ice fishing, mountain biked North Dakota's Maah Daah Hey Trail, skied through the Boundary Waters wilderness, watched black bears in the wild, camped beneath northern lights, crawled through caves and learned to do a pretty good loon call.Her newest edition of The Dakotas Off the Beaten Path came out in May 2015. She wrote Day Trips from the Twin Cities in 2012.
