Lisa Meyers McClintick has explored the Midwest as an award-winning journalist and photographer for the past 30 years. She's paddled across 450-foot-deep quarries, bundled up for ice fishing, mountain biked North Dakota's Maah Daah Hey Trail, skied through the Boundary Waters wilderness, watched black bears in the wild, camped beneath northern lights, crawled through caves and learned to do a pretty good loon call.Her newest edition of The Dakotas Off the Beaten Path came out in May 2015. She wrote Day Trips from the Twin Cities in 2012. She writes for USA Today's Go Escape magazine and special sections, TravelChannel.com, Midwest Living, Twin Cities Star Tribune, Minnesota Monthly and Family Vacation Critic (a TripAdvisor website) . She especially enjoys family travel with her husband and their three children, including twins.McClintick is an active member of the Society of American Travel Writers and Midwest Travel Journalists Association. She also speaks to groups, teaches writing and sketchbooking classes and dabbles in fiber arts.
