About the Author

Naomi Howland

My name is Naomi Howland and I am an author and illustrator of books for children. The books I have written and illustrated are the kinds of books I loved best as a child. I was a big fan of Cinderella and The Twelve Dancing Princesses. I poured over the pictures, the dresses, and shoes. In my own illustrations, I try to include the kind of details children will get lost in as they listen to the story being read. Picture books are told in words and art. Ideally neither element should stand alone and together the words and art create a book worthy of returning to time and time again. The picture of me was taken in my kitchen. When I am not drawing or writing, I can usually be found cooking for my family and friends. It's my favorite way of relaxing! Please visit my website: naomihowland.com for more information.
