About this item
Since its first titles were released more than 25 years ago, the Opposing Viewpoints series has set a standard for its comprehensive coverage of the arguments surrounding society’s most controversial issues. The format remains somber and plain: graphs, charts, and occasional political cartoons provide the only illustration on the black-and-white pages. Newer titles in the series continue the familiar structure: articles and excerpts from a wide range of periodicals are grouped into themed chapters, each titled with a provocative question that encourages in-depth discussion. Media Violence begins with articles that probe the scope and severity of the phenomenon and then moves on to sections about how violence in the media should be regulated, the effects of violence in the news, and cyberbullying.
