About the Author

Brianna Caplan Sayres

Brianna Caplan Sayres used to tell her second graders, "When I grow up, I'm going to be a writer." "But you are grown up, Mrs. Sayres," her students would protest. Well, Brianna is still not quite sure she's grown up, but she has grown into a writer. She is proud to be the author of the bestselling WHERE DO DIGGERS SLEEP AT NIGHT? series (Random House) illustrated by Christian Slade. Brianna is also extremely excited about her upcoming picture books about outer space, including ASTEROID GOLDBERG: PASSOVER IN OUTER SPACE (Intergalactic Afikoman) illustrated by Merrill Rainey and NIGHT NIGHT, CURIOSITY (Charlesbridge) illustrated by Ryan O'Rourke. Brianna now lives in her hometown, Seattle, Washington, where she and her husband are kept busy by their two future astronauts.
