About the Author

John Son

John Son is the author of Finding My Hat, an autobiographical novel that was selected as a NYPL Best Book for the Teen Age, and Relaxation and Yoga (True Health Book) . The first is a lyrical coming-of-age novel sometimes loosely, sometimes closely based on John's own life experiences growing up as a Korean American. The second is an accessible introduction to the joys of meditation and yoga for young people, drawn from the lessons he continually learns as a part-time yoga teacher. John is currently at work on a graphic novel called Rosa's Wigs, detailing his family's life around their former wig store business, where he survived a perfect storm of racial, class, gender, and capitalist oppression during some of the most formative years of his life. He is also working on a picture book inspired by his son's love of cars. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.
