Scott Helman is the co-author of two books: "The Real Romney" (Harper, 2012) , a critically acclaimed biography of Mitt Romney, and "Long Mile Home" (Dutton, 2014) , a narrative, character-driven account of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. He is also a staff writer for The Boston Globe, where he has worked as a reporter and editor since 2000. He was previously the paper's political editor and a national political reporter, serving as a lead writer on the 2008 presidential campaign. He lives near Boston with his family.
