About this item

Jennifer Cole has just been told that she has a terminal blood disorder and has just three months to live--ninety days to say goodbye to friends and family, and to put her affairs in order. Ninety days to come to terms with a diagnosis that is unfair, unexpected, and completely unpronounceable. Focusing on the positives (she won't have to go on in a world without Bowie or Maya Angelou; she won't get Alzheimer's or Parkinson's like her parents, or have teeth that flop out at the mere mention of the word apple), Jennifer realizes she only has one real regret: the relationships she's lost. Rather than running off to complete a frantic bucket list, Jennifer chooses to stay put and write a letter to the three most significant people in her life, to say the things she wished she'd said before but never dared: her overbearing, selfish sister, her jelly-spined, cheating ex-husband, and her charming, unreliable ex-boyfriend--and finally tell them the truth. At first, Jennifer feels cleansed by her catharsis. Liberated, even. Her ex-boyfriend rushes to her side and she even starts to build bridges with her sister Isabelle (that is, once Isabelle's confirmed that Jennifer's condition isn't genetic). But once you start telling the truth, it's hard to stop. And as Jennifer soon discovers, the truth isn't always as straightforward as it seems, and death has a way of surprising you....

About the Author

Melanie Cantor

Hello reader! Thanks for visiting my page. Seeing my first book, Death and Other Happy Endings, published last year was a total joy. Inspired by a letter I wrote to someone who had disappointed me, I'm happy to say the book has struck a chord. To be able to share Jennifer & co with readers and get your feedback, knowing you have enjoyed travelling with her on her journey, that you've laughed and cried has meant everything. I know from many of you that the book has made you reflect on your own life, your relationships, your highs and lows and you have been inspired by Jennifer's resilience and humour. As an author, I couldn't ask for more. The paperback will be published in June but for now I'm in the middle of writing book two (not a sequel) . For those of you who have asked what's next, I hope it's worth waiting for. I'm certainly enjoying writing it. In my former life, I was a celebrity publicist and agent. My clients included Ulrika Jonsson, Melinda Messenger and Melanie Sykes. I had great fun looking after Adam Ant for a brief period in the mid 80s. My life's path has been nothing if not surprising. I was not looking to become a tv presenter but due to the persistence of a friend, I hosted a series for Channel 4 called Making Space, tidying up people's messy homes. I like bin bags and folding! More recently, despite being far from model material, having just turned 60, I was scouted on King's Cross Station and have now appeared in two Dove commercials. Not gonna lie, it was huge fun and a great big ego boost.I live in London with my dog Mabel who has turned me into a crazy dog lady. I have two grown up sons, one who lives round the corner, the other in New York which gives me a great excuse to go there whenever I can. Thanks for coming by. Until next time...find me on instagram @melanie.cantor
