Sarah-Jane Bedwell is a registered dietitian, national speaker, and media personality. Sarah-Jane's mission is to help people achieve a higher quality of life through food and nutrition. As the official food and nutrition blogger for SELF Magazine, a national women's health and fitness magazine, she has a valuable platform in which she can share the information that she is both knowledgeable and passionate about. Sarah-Jane graduated magna cum laude with a major in dietetics and minor in exercise science from Harding University. Sarah-Jane completed her dietetic internship, with an emphasis on Medical Nutrition Therapy at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Sarah-Jane serves as a consultant for the food and beverage industry, with clients including CLIF Bar and Company, Welch's, National Cattlemen's Beef Association, Wal-Mart, and Grapes from California. Sarah-Jane has appeared on all the major Nashville news station affiliate channels, and regularly does upbeat nutrition-related segments. Since April of 2012, she has regularly appeared nationally on NBC's TODAY Show. She currently serves as a media spokesperson for the Tennessee Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and was recently selected to win the 2013 Media Excellence Award by the National Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.Sarah-Jane's first book, "Schedule Me Skinny: Plan to Lose Weight and Keep it Off in Just 30 Minutes a Week," will be released in January 2014.Sarah-Jane has been fortunate enough to travel around the world experiencing other cultures and cuisine. She studied abroad for a semester during college in the Tuscany region of Florence, Italy, as well as traveling all over Europe, to Argentina, central America, and the Caribbean, just to name a few. All of these experiences have shaped Sarah-Jane's approach to food and healthy eating and inspired her to become a self-taught foodie and to experiment in the kitchen, where she fuses the Southern food of her roots with the healthy knowledge from her profession. In her free time, Sarah-Jane enjoys going for long runs (she's completed 4 marathons!), cooking meals with her husband Joe, and walking her two dogs, Inky and Buddy.
