But tragedy struck when she was unable to find the small island she needed to land on in the Pacific Ocean. Despite rescue efforts, she was never found. But Amelia Earhart is still remembered today as a daring explorer who loved to fly.

She loves picture book biographies, chocolate, her cats and traveling to new places especially in Europe.She is an active member of SCBWI Oklahoma, a runner-up for SCBWI's Barbara Karlin Grant and a winner of the Katherine Patterson Prize at Hunger Mountain (Vermont College of Fine Arts.) Sparky & Spike received a Booklist starred review and is the recipient of a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection Award. My Mastodon is a 2021 Oklahoma Book Award Winner and a 2021 "Great Reads from Great Places" book for the National Book Festival of the Library of Congress and received a Kirkus starred review.
