Max Kornell began studying art at a young age, mostly by copying drawings of 'Calvin and Hobbes', Bill Watterson's wonderous and inspiring newspaper comic. Eventually, he went on to study art at Rhode Island School of Design where he earned a degree in illustration. When he is not drawing pictures or making up stories, Max teaches first grade at a progressive, independent school in Santa Monica. He lives with his wife and three children.
