Among the many pressing social concerns that have galvanized evangelical Christians' response - abortion, human trafficking, environmental degradation, and many others - the care of animals has received relatively little attention. About the Author
Wanting to combine her strong faith with her passion for advocacy on behalf of the oppressed and marginalized, Sarah obtained an MTS with a concentration in Christian Faith and Public Policy from Palmer Seminary of Eastern University in 2014, then started a Christian outreach program for PETA before returning to Eastern University as Deputy Director of the Sider Center. She is the author of two books: Animals Are Not Ours (No Really, They're Not) : An Evangelical Animal Liberation Theology (Cascade Books, 2016) and Vegangelical: How Caring for Animals Can Shape Your Faith (Zondervan, 2016) , and she is an Associate Fellow of Oxford University's Oxford Center for Animal Ethics.Sarah shares her home with two humans, two rescued dogs, and two former street cats.
