Author Martha Hines Templeton was born in Kansas City, Missouri. When she was 11 years old, her family moved to the Ozarks, in Shannon County Missouri. She met her husband in High School and married soon after graduating. While raising five children, she worked at a local television station, and later in their family business. She is currently employed at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. She turned to her interest in writing after taking a course in writing children's literature. Although she has had a few articles and short stories published, "Twice A Hero" is her first book to be published!
