About the Author

D. A. Keeley

Thanks for stopping by. I'm D.A. Keeley (and John R. Corrigan and, believe it or not, K.A. Delaney) .

Peyton Cote is a kick-ass US Border Patrol agent and a single mom. She struggles to balance the two. A unique aspect of these novels is that they're set in northern Maine's Aroostook County, a fascinating and wonderful place where I lived for ten years. I try to honor that region by portraying it authentically.

I love meeting readers and am happy to join your book-group discussion, either in person or via Skype of Google Hangout. I enjoy readings, Q@As, school visits, and workshops as well. So please reach out to me on Facebook or Twitter.

BOOKS, BIO, & CONTACT

I was born in Augusta, Maine, and live with my wife and three daughters at Northfield Mount Hermon School (Mass.) , where I'm the English department chair, a teacher, and may very well be the only mystery writer in America who's also a dorm parent. In 1979, prior to many discoveries in the field of learning disabilities, I was broadly diagnosed as "learning disabled, presumed dyslexic" -- a theme that resonates through some of my works.

I played college hockey, then covered the city desk at a couple newspapers before heading to the University of Texas at El Paso to earn my MFA. Along with a host of other writers, I write a regular post for the Type M for Murder blog-site (http://typem4murder.blogspot.com/) .

A Mainer through and through, I try to get to Old Orchard Beach as often as possible.
