DAVE HILL is a comedian, writer, and musician originally from Cleveland but now living in New York City. He has written for The New York Times, The Paris Review, Salon, GQ, McSweeney's, Guitar World, and the Cleveland Plain Dealer among other publications. He is a regular contributor to public radio's This American Life and hosts his own radio show, The Goddamn Dave Hill Show, every Monday on free-from radio station WFMU in Jersey City, New Jersey. Dave has appeared frequently on Comedy Central's @midnight and Inside Amy Schumer and TBS' Full Front with Sam Bee and even starred in his own TV series, The King of Miami on the MOJO Network. He has also appeared on BBC America, MTV, and Adult Swim among others and is a regular host on HBO and Cinemax. Dave performs live comedy in theaters and basements across the globe. He also plays guitar and sings in his own rock band Valley Lodge whose song "Go" is the theme to HBO's Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Dave Hill Doesn't Live Here Anymore is his second collection of nonfiction essays and centers around his relationship with his father in the aftermath of his mother's death. In the book, he also writes about his time spent in a Mexican prison, the time a homeless person doused him with urine, and a day spent recording ringtones with reality television star and aspiring leader of the free world Donald Trump among other topics. In short, it is a literary thrill ride you will want to experience again and again. Dave's first book, Tasteful Nudes, was published by St. Martins Press in 2012.
