When industrial magnate Antonio Lombardo dies in a car accident, his favorite son Alejandro (William Levy) inherits his fortune with the instructions that he provide for the rest of the family. Bruno, jealous of his brother's wealth, plots to murder him and take his fortune. Bruno's scheme is only partly successful and Alejandro returns from the terrible accident to find that his is married to Maria Jose (Jacqueline Bracamontes) , an innocent girl who was lied to by Bruno as part of his scheme. Doctors tell Alejandro that he suffers from memory loss but he is convinced he never met Maria Jose before and goes in search of the truth.
