About the Book

RAT FINK traces the brutal exploits of an ambitious sociopathic rock & roll singer who is capable of anything in his quest for fame and fortune. Surely, one of the most exciting cinematic finds of the year was the discovery of a 35mm print of RAT FINK. Considered lost for over 50 years, its original elements destroyed in a fire, a print was recently located in an old warehouse. Severely damaged by crippling arc burns, the print was successfully restored to its present condition by Retromedia and represents the final missing link in the stellar career of Oscar-winning cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond (CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND) . Cult director James Landis (THE SADIST) skillfully employs Zsigmond's brilliant black and white imagery to bring RAT FINK's story of betrayal, murder, and rock & roll to vivid life.
