About this item

Universal Pictures' 3-D animated comedy Despicable Me follows the misadventures of a super-villain named Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) as he tries to raise three adopted girls in the midst of pulling off his greatest scheme, stealing the moon. Produced by award-winning pop/R&B/hip-hop guru Pharrell Williams, the film's soundtrack features a winning mix of old-school funk, contemporary hip-hop, and vintage disco (the Bee Gees' "You Should Be Dancing" and the Sylvers' "Boogie Fever") . Pharrell sings lead on four of the songs, including the comically sinister title cut (which suffers from an unnecessary application of abysmal, bandwagon Auto-Tune) , "Fun, Fun, Fun, " "Prettiest Girls, " and "Rocket's Theme. " He co-wrote and produced the remaining tracks, including Clique Girlz Destinee & Paris' "I'm on a Roll" and "My Life" with Robin Thicke.
