In post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans, disgraced cop Ben Chaney (Josh Lucas) has to deal with his drink problem while investigating the murder of a beautiful cellist (Lake Bell) . In a supernatural twist he gets help from an unusual quarter - the ghost of the victim herself. Shes seeking to get justice for her brother (Nick Lashaway) , who was convicted of her murder, but recent events lead Chaney to investigate an untrustworthy country club owner (Cary Elwes) .
