About this item

Twenty-year-old clarinetist Raphael Severe, blessed with a magnificent technique and glowing tone, is featured on this album of chamber music by Brahms. He is joined by pianist Adam Laloum, whose previous release on Mirare already explored Brahmsian twilights. Together they demonstrate that, in the burnished autumnal colors of the Clarinet Sonatas, the composer chose the instrument to bid a melancholy farewell to the world. Cellist Victor Julien-Laferriere joins the duo for the elegiac Clarinet Trio.
