Storytelling runs in Justina Chen's blood. After all, her middle name means illuminate, which is what story does: it throws light on a truth.

Justina is a story strategist, trusted communications advisor to leaders, and an award-winning novelist. She has worked for numerous senior leaders along with presidents at Microsoft. There, her work was lauded for "almost single-handedly changing the way we think about executive communications at Microsoft. Her work has been a staggering reminder of the power of exquisite storytelling." She frequently keynotes global marketing / social media conferences and runs storytelling workshops at organizations as diverse as the Mayo Clinic to the Discovery Channel and Disney. Currently, she is partnering with the former President of Microsoft Entertainment & Devices on an intensive, interactive one-day seminar, The Upstart Leader: Powering Change through Strategy & Storytelling. Her most recent book, THE ART OF INSPIRATION: LEAD YOUR BEST STORY, is written specifically for any leader who needs to inspire employees, customers, and constituents to give the best of themselves. Her novel, North of Beautiful, was named one of the Best Books of the Year by Kirkus Reviews and was a finalist of nine state book awards. And her debut novel, Nothing but the Truth (and a few white lies) , won the Asian-American Award for Literature.

A passionate advocate of literacy, Justina co-founded readergirlz, a cutting-edge social media project for teens, which won the National Book Foundation's Prize for Innovations in Reading. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University with honors in Economics.

She's called Sydney and Shanghai home, and currently lives in Seattle with her two kids. Even so, Justina feels at ease wherever she goes so long as she has her coconut black tea, journal, and pen.
