Jeff Nichols (Midnight Special, Mud) wrote and directed this biopic about Virginian interracial couple Richard and Mildred Loving (played by Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga) , who were sentenced to prison in 1958 for violating the state's laws against miscegenation.
