About this item

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a wolf? What would you do in the cold winter months? Where would you sleep? What would you eat? Spend a year in the world of wolves in One Wolf Howls. This adventurous childrens book uses the months of the year and the numbers 1 through 12 to introduce children to the behavior of wolves in natural settings. The lively, realistic illustrations of Susan Detwiler complement the rhyming text and bring each month to life. From January to December, howl, frolic, and dance, while learning important lessons page-by-page!

About the Author

Scotti Cohn

I have been writing poetry and fiction almost since I learned the alphabet.

My first major opus was a joint project with my best friend in 4th grade. We wrote a sequel to 101 Dalmatians and sent it to Walt Disney Studios. They accepted it and we became famous child prodigies, and. . . oops. There I go, writing fiction again.

Anyhow, although I was bitter at the rejection by Disney, I continued to pursue my calling.

I have written eight nonfiction books for The Globe Pequot Press.

My first picture book -- One Wolf Howls -- was published by Sylvan Dell in 2009. Sylvan Dell published my second picture book -- Big Cat, Little Kitty -- in spring 2011. A third book in the "series" -- On the Move -- was published in 2012. A new picture book called "Animal Partners" is scheduled for publication in 2014.

In 2013 I published my first chapter book -- Wordsworth and the Dragon, illustrated by Christina Wald. Wordsworth is a humorous fantasy adventure for children in grades 3-5, available in print form as well as Kindle.

In order to actually earn a living, I have worked as a technical editor, legal secretary, public relations specialist, and copy editor (primarily for nursing textbooks) .

I have two adult children and four grand-cats as well as my own four cats and wonderful husband (saved the best for last) .

Eventually I hope to be famous and beloved by all. I think it's wise to have modest goals in life.
