Making a friend makes all the difference. When Olivers parents separate, Oliver must brave many new changes. He shuffles back and forth between his parents homes. And now he goes to preschool everyday. He doesnt know the kids there or his new teacher. Isolated and alone at first, Oliver slowly becomes part of the gang. Elizabeth Shreeve is the author of Captain Freddy Counts Down to School (Two Lions) ; Oliver at the Window (Boyds Mills Press) ; and the chapter book series The Adventures of Hector Fuller (Simon & Schuster) . Her upcoming nonfiction books include Out of the Blue (Candlewick Press, March 2021) , a picture book that tells the deep-time story of how animals made their way from ocean to land. Two upcoming books with Norton Young Readers are The Upside-Down Book of Sloths and Fast Feet, Big Brains: The Story of Human Origins.Elizabeth graduated from Harvard College, where she studied with noted scientists Stephen Jay Gould and E.O. Wilson. She earned a Masters in Landscape Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and is a Principal of SWA Group, an international design firm. She lives in northern California where she writes stories, grows hummingbird gardens, and shares a busy home with her husband, sons, and Hector the Dog.
